HATHA YOGA
In hatha yoga, the body becomes the vehicle through which the physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person can be purified. A typical hatha yoga class combines static poses and free-flowing sequences to energise, detox, and tone the physical body by improving the function of all bodily systems (e.g., muscular, skeletal, respiratory, circulatory, endocrine, nervous, excretory systems etc ). Physical movement is married with awareness and control of the breath, in addition to meditational practices in order to still and steady the mind.
RESTORATIVE YOGA
A soothing, nurturing, slow-paced practice aimed at rejuvenating, restoring, and relaxing the body and mind. A variety of Hatha yoga poses - chosen for their therapeutic value and calming affect on the central nervous system - are used as an antidote to the stresses and strains of modern life. The use of props supports the body, enabling practitioners to hold poses longer in order to work deeper into the body to improve health and create a feeling of deep calm and introspection.
